Lightweight design and wireless connectivity allow you to take the Canon BJC-55 Color Bubble Jet printer anywhere you go. Weighing in at just over 2 pounds, the compact BJC-55 is fully portable. Use the built-in Fast IrDA for convenient wireless printing or the USB port for quick and easy connection to both Mac and PC systems. The BJC-55 runs on the long-life lithium-ion battery and allows you to print up to 100 pages before recharging.

The BJC-55 provides desktop-quality printing at 5.5 pages per minute (2 ppm color). It handles several types of paper, including legal, A4, European, and also envelopes. On the go, I frequently need to print out documents, be it invoices, reciepts, e-mails, etc etc so I decided to purchase this product. Words cannot describe my feelings toward it, I use it soo much with the laptops I don't know how I lived without one before. Installation on Windows 2k, and ME was flawless, both using the Fast IrDA.

The printer is just the perfect size to slide in to my briefcase, and adds little weight. It's battery operation is really what caught my eye, it says you can print about 100 pages with a full charge, but I think its a bit less than that. However, the battery takes little time to charge.

I was not aware it would come with as much ink as it did, came with 2 color cartidges, 1 black (small), and 1 black (large), as well as two trays that they are held in. The Fast IrDA is such a fabulous thing, wireless printing all the way. I decided to purchase a USB cable, its much easier some times using the cable then the IrDA (Infared) port. The quality of the documents is fantastic, matching (and beating!) my desktop printers at home. The speed is good, considering this is a portable printer. The only real drawback is that it is a single sheet feed printer, unless you buy the paper loader, which I will surely do! This is THE BEST portable printer I've found on the market, it is well worth the money.

This is a small update, I've been using the printer for about 5 months now, and everything has gone smoothly. I purchased the auto-sheet feeder from Canon (directly, from their web site) and it performs just like a normal desktop printer would! I'm still loving it.

I've had the predecessor (BJC-50) for about 4 years. It has been used heavily at home and one the road, and it has taken hard beatings. It has finally given out, and I'm going to buy another.

It's a truly amazing product. I can't think of another computer peripheral that still costs the same as it did 4 years ago -- and is still worth the high price. Why can't anyone else match it at a lower price? Darned if I know!

Our family has owned this printer for years, since at least 2001. I inherited it from my dad when I went to college.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a mobile printer that's as small and sturdy as this one is. It's incredibly compact, extremely light, has a cartridge for scanning and all it needs is an AC adapter. The ink is very small and is still available even today.

True story: I brought this printer with me to English class on the days we'd write in class. Since I'm a messy handwriter, and hey I'm pretty lazy, the teacher allowed me to type it on the computer. I pulled this out and printed it right there in class, then turned it in.

ON a side note, I'm disappointed that there's a lack of printers that are portable 11 years later. This is somewhat loud when printing, but I had imagined much smaller technology by now.
